PANAMA — Mandy Brink scored 9 of her team-high 16 points in the third quarter as No. 2 Panama pulled away from No. 7 North Collins en route to a quarterfinal victory Division VI Class D Women’s Basketball 51-34 Thursday night.
The Panthers will now face No. 3 Sherman in next Thursday’s semifinal at 5 p.m. at Jamestown Community College.
Panama led 8-6 after the first quarter and outscored the Eagles 10-3 in the second quarter. A Zoe Kreinheder 3-pointer was North Collins’ only field goal of the period.
The Panthers put the game away with a 19-9 third quarter.
Brink grabbed seven rebounds, had six assists and had five steals; Jo Bailey had 10 points; Kylie Morgan had 7 points and seven rebounds; Hannah Schauman grabbed seven rebounds and provided two assists; and Maddie Lisciandro had six rebounds and three steals for Panama.

Hailey Jasinski led the Eagles with 16 points and three assists while Michaela Rice had 7 points and 10 rebounds.

JENNA FISHER TAKES CONTROL
SHERMAN — A 12-5 third quarter helped No. 3 Sherman gain control against No. 6 Clymer en route to a 45-38 Class D quarterfinal victory.
Jenna Fisher scored 5 of her 13 points in the deciding eight minutes for the Wildcats, who face No. 2 Panama in next Thursday’s semifinal at 5 p.m. at Jamestown Community College. The Panthers have won both meetings between the teams this season after the Wildcats won last spring’s division title game.
Sherman led 8-0 early Thursday before Alexys Neckers hit a pair of 3-pointers to stop the run. In total, 18 of the Pirates’ 21 points in the first half came on 3-pointers.
The Wildcats took a 35-26 lead in the fourth quarter and Clymer cut the deficit to four, but couldn’t close.
Paige Gratto had 10 points, eight rebounds and six steals; Kaitlyn Lindsey had 10 points; Leighanne Swan grabbed 14 rebounds; Hayden Fisher had seven rebounds; and Jenna Fisher had five interceptions for Sherman.
Mikala Einink had 14 points and four assists; Abby White had 14 points and four assists; Karlen Honey grabbed 10 rebounds; and Neckers had nine rebounds and three steals for the Pirates.

PINE VALLEY WINS IN OT
SOUTH DAYTON — Trista Farnham made a pair of baskets in overtime and Franklinville missed a buzzer shot as No. 4 Pine Valley hung on for a 45-43 victory over No. 5 Franklinville in the quarterfinals class D.
The teams were tied at 39 by regulation before Farnham, Haleigha Hardy and Danielle West put the hosts on the hump in the extra session.
Farnham finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and three steals while West scored his 9 points in the second half and overtime after injury in the first half limited his minutes. Mattison Cadle had 8 points and eight rebounds for Pine Valley.
“We played well defensively” said Pine Valley head coach Tim Nobles. “We struggle to bounce back at times, but we played well defensively and forced them to take shots they didn’t want.”
Pine Valley dropped as many as 14 points in the third quarter before rallying.
Franklinville made a free throw late in overtime to make it a two-run game and after stopping at the defensive end he had a chance to tie or win the game.
Megan Jackson led Franklinville with 20 points and Sofia Bentley had 10.
Pine Valley was just 8 of 23 from the free throw line while Franklinville was 8 of 18.
Pine Valley will face No. 1 Ellicottville in Wednesday’s semifinal at 5 p.m. at Jamestown Community College. The Eagles beat the Panthers in back-to-back games on February 5 and 7.

FALCONER – The No. 4 Falconer beat No. 5 Salamanca 22-5 in the second quarter en route to a 57-37 Class C1 quarter-final win.
The Golden Falcons led 8-6 after the first quarter before Grace Lundmark scored 11 of her 23 points in the deciding second quarter.
Falconer will now face No. 1 Wilson in the 6:30 p.m. semi-final next Thursday at Jamestown Community College.
“We changed our defense, adjusted a few things and started to take off a bit,” Golden Falcons head coach Emily Scholeno said of the second quarter.
Dani Krenzer had 11 points; Tess Spangenburg had 10 points and six rebounds; Lundmark grabbed eight rebounds; Kayla Lynn had four assists; and Ava Fenton had five assists and seven steals in the victory.
Karina Crouse led the Warriors with 9 points and Jillian Rea added 8.

BUFFALO — Abby Rice wasn’t about to let her high school career end on Thursday night.
The Silver Creek senior had 34 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists, six steals and four blocked shots as the sixth-seeded Black Knights beat No. 3 MST Prep 70-22 in the quarterfinals of class C1.
Jade Bouvier added 20 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and two steals while Malani Eldridge had 7 points and five steals for Silver Creek, who will face No. 2 Portville in the semifinals at 8 p.m. next Thursday at Jamestown Community College. .
The Black Knights led 12-5 after the first quarter before Rice scored 14 points in a 21-5 second quarter to put the game aside.
Noora Alkaldi led MST Prep with 8 points.

HOLLAND – Claire Pikett scored 37 points to lead No. 2 Holland past No. 7 Cassadaga Valley 64-47 in the Class C2 quarter-final.
The Lady Dutchmen led 14-5 after the first quarter, but the Cougars held off for most of the game.
Rookie Emiley Anderson led Cassadaga Valley with 28 points, including eight 3-pointers, while sophomore Andrea Johnson added 14, including three 3-pointers.
Ava Linder had 10 points for Holland, who will face No. 3 Frewsburg in the 6:30 p.m. semifinal on Wednesday at Jamestown Community College.

MAYVILLE — Senior Mercedez Obert recorded her first career double-double as No. 4 Chautauqua Lake edged No. 5 Maple Grove 59-31 in the Class C2 quarterfinal on Thursday.
Obert had 10 points and 11 rebounds while Lily Woodis had a team-high 13 points and six assists for the Thunderbirds, who will face No. 1 Randolph in Wednesday’s 8 p.m. semifinal at Jamestown. Community College. The Cardinals knocked out Chautauqua Lake in the semifinals last spring en route to the Class C sectional championship.
Erma Wolcott had 10 points while Taylor Donato had 9 points and six assists Thursday for the Thunderbirds.
Erin Mansfield led the Red Dragons with 11 points and Madi Price had 9.
